What should I use to build web apps?

Websites are simple: Astro, if possible. If not, Eleventy. With CMS? Kirby. With web apps, it’s much more difficult.

Vue.js is too similar to Next.js.

Svelte stands out with its compiler. But Vercel is a major backer and it’s hard to get work in Svelte.

SolidJS looks intriguing, but the author is active on X in 2026 and working on version 2.*, which will change a lot of things.

Larvel had a nice community, but it’s 2026, and they’re active on X.

Django is also active on X. So is Phoenix.

Svelte appears to be the least bad option.
