Design process

• Research is essential. A long time ago, I thought, “How is that possible? Who can afford that?” Over time, I learned you can’t do valuable design work without it.

• Sleeping on a project is valuable. Those few hours can make a huge difference.

• Going for a walk during a break from designing is valuable. Even 15 minutes is enough.

• Sometimes, it’s worth working on two projects at once to gain some distance. When you return to work on a project after working on another project, you have a slightly fresher perspective—even if you return to the project on the same day.
